Do you ever struggle with not feeling good enough?
Do you sometimes feel down on yourself?
Do you find yourself speaking negatively to yourself?
In fact, for many years I tried to correct negative thinking and feelings of unworthiness through traditional talk therapy with counselors. I also tried to improve my mental attitude by loving myself more and improving my relationship with myself.
In short, I tried to “think” my way to happiness. This approach did help me to some degree, but the real magic occurred when I started approaching it a bit differently.
While I absolutely believe in the power of the mind, I also know that you can change how your mind thinks by improving your physical body. I call this an “Outside, In” approach. By improving your nutrition and fitness, you can improve how you think. And there is now tons of research proving this!
As my 40th birthday approached (a few years ago now) I was committed to getting my best body ever. I took a year to hunker down and truly change my body. My goal to was to get in the best shape of my life, and I did it! I dialed in my workouts and eating and wow, the results were incredible!
What surprised me was how much the journey improved my self esteem and confidence. By changing my diet, and strengthening my body, I was able to supercharge my mind!
So, if you are trying to “think” your way to happy and still struggling, consider shifting your strategy a bit. Keep doing what you’re doing to “think” better, AND, consider using exercise and nutrition to up your game.
Consider putting more effort into achieving your best body ever through nutrition, strength training, and smart cardio.
Can you imagine what it would feel like to achieve the body that you have desired for so long?
Think what it would do for your spirit if you felt stronger, physically.
