My Bulletproof Method for Reaching Goals

TODAY is the very day each year when gyms around the country report seeing a massive drop-off in attendance.

It’s only the third week of January!!!!

It breaks my heart to know that you might be following this very same trend. Have you begun to abandon your New Year’s Resolutions? PLEASE say “No!”

If you feel that you are starting to slip, I have some amazing tips for you today.

3 Keys to My Bulletproof Method for Reaching Goals

I struggled for years trying to reach my goals. It’s true!

I kept stumbling in my attempt to build muscle and decrease body fat. I would go strong for about two weeks and then for some mysterious reason I would crash. It would take me about a week to get back on track and the process would begin again.

It was then that I created a new approach anchored in these 3 keys:

  1. Strategy: I remember feeling totally overwhelmed by all of the different trends. Each week I would implement some new approach based on the latest books or magazine articles. I was constantly changing my strategy and therefore none of them worked! In order to achieve any goal, you MUST have a crystal clear strategy and follow it for at least 6-8 weeks in order to see the outcome of the specific approach. You’ve got to give it time to work! One of the biggest mistakes I see is that people are jumping from one program to another, to another, to another. It is absolutely critical that you choose a precise strategy based on your goals and then STICK WITH IT!
  2. Accountability: We humans are really sneaky! We are masterminds at excuses and escape! One of these reasons why my clients are so successful is because a real, live human being (me) is there, keeping them locked into reality. This makes it very hard for them to escape into excuses. Your sneaky brain can come up with a million reasons to skip a workout, and lots of motivations to eat 14 cookies. Having a friend, coach, or workout partner will make a huge difference in reaching your goals.
  3. Sabotage Sabotage: As a female human, you are EXTRA good at sabotaging your very own efforts! Ugh! It’s one of the most frustrating things that we do, but we do it! If you can learn to sabotage your sabotaging ways you will be 67,000 times more likely to succeed. In my experience, this is the biggest reason why we “fail” to reach our goals! In order to reach any goal in life, you’ve got to learn to sabotage your sabotage! I am particularly passionate about this topic and will be talking about it in great detail during tomorrow’s LIVE with Holly on Facebook and Instagram. I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed that you can tune in and join the conversation.

OMG you described me especially in the strategy category. I have a bad habit….over the past year…of starting a program for a few weeks then switching when I read something about a different program, then start that one and so on. I have started The Glutes Project at least three times over the course of a year…..never completed it. So I need to try your steps about since I am 44 and need to get myself on a scheduled program. I am signed up to run a 15k in March, any ideas how I should schedule workouts between running and strength training? As always thank you so much for the information you provide!!
