HP May 10 Header

I’m back this week with the third installment of my top Grocery Store Go-To’s!!!

This video includes some hot topic products likes dairy, eggs and meat. Are you curious about these foods items?

I also get into fruits and vegetables just a bit, and saved some insights on them for today’s email update here.

 This week’s special Blog content

I meant it when I said, “Buy them all!” in the fruits and vegetables section!

You just can’t go wrong by stocking up on brightly colored fruits and vegetables. Yes, that includes bananas, potatoes and grapes! In my opinion, ALL fruits and vegetables win the race in the Carbohydrate division. I will also choose a vegetable over a grain because I want the nutrition and feel best when I eat up!

Some fruits and vegetables are more nutritious than others. In fact, there is a special scale that measures the level of antioxidants for each called the ORAC Scale. I always aim to buy the most nutritious or highest in antioxidants first and then pick up a few for pure preference.

Fruits and Vegetables: My Top 10

The following are in order of highest nutrition

  1. WILD Blueberries
  2. Blackberries
  3. Raspberries
  4. Strawberries
  5. Asparagus
  6. Broccoli, lightly steamed
  7. Sweet potato, baked
  8. Arugula
  9. Kale
  10. Spinach

Other SUPER interesting highlights from the ORAC Scale:

  • Fresh herbs rank the highest of all foods
  • Pure, dark chocolate or cocoa powder ranks second highest!
  • Watermelon ranks disappointingly loooooowwwww.

Check out this week’s video below for more thoughts on this!

PS! I reserve exclusive content just for the members of my Inner Circle email update list. If you’d like to get more inside tips from me on health, fitness and weight loss that aren’t shared here on the Blog, you can sign up at the top right side of this page! It’s free.

As always, I’d love to hear from you. Do you choose your foods and brands based on preference, or nutrition? Please share your thoughts in the Comments section below!
