In past email updates I have covered the topic of eating around workouts numerous times. We’ve talked about how to eat before and after, and some good options for fuel.
Today I want to share exactly what NOT to eat before your workout. Because what you eat will make – or break – your next sweat sesh big time.
I remember back to my mid-twenties when I desperately wanted to be lean. In an effort to “eat light and low fat” I would eat a salad before going for a long run in Central Park. Lemmetellya, I learned very quickly that salads are great if you want side cramps, terrible gas pains, and legs that feel like cement bricks. Clearly, a salad is not an ideal pre-workout meal.
